Biosynthesis of thin film derived from microbial chitosan for piezoelectric application

The aim of this paper was to synthesize and characterize microbial chitosan thin films for potential piezoelectric application. Microbial derived from the Aspergillus oryzae fungus via extraction deacetylation. Chitosan film characterized its surface morphology, chemical properties, tensile strength, topography. For application as a material, characteristics were presented in terms electromechanical coupling coefficient coefficient. fabrication optimized one-factor-at-a-time (OFAT) method, where parameters type acid solvent, concentration mixing time. prepared using formic at 0.25 M 3 h time had highest strength (129.29 MPa), factor (0.0045), d31 (10 pC/N). results obtained, film, validated against fungal chitosan, it shown that properties comparable those commercial PVDF films.
